Solis AC Coupled Battery Storage Inverter Fault Codes and Explanations:
- OV-G-V - Over grid voltage - The inverter is measuring a grid (mains) voltage that is too high in relation to the parameters that the inverter has been set to safely operate within. If this fault persists contact us to arrange for a solar engineer to visit to establish whether the fault lies with the inverter, the inverter supply circuit or with the grid.
- UN-G-V - Under grid voltage - The inverter is measuring a grid (mains) voltage that is too low in relation to the parameters that the inverter has been set to safely operate within. If this fault persists and mains power is available to other local circuits then check that all isolators, MCBs and RCDs on the AC side of the solar PV system are 'On'. If automatic safety devices such as MCBs or RCDs have switched 'Off' then leave them 'Off' and contact us to arrange for a solar engineer to visit to establish whether the fault lies with the inverter, the supply circuit or with the grid.
- OV-G-F - Over grid frequency - The inverter is measuring a grid (mains) frequency that is too high in relation to the parameters that the inverter has been set to safely operate within. If this fault persists contact us to arrange for a solar engineer to visit to establish whether the fault lies with the inverter or with the grid.
- UN-G-F - Under grid frequency - The inverter is measuring a grid (mains) frequency that is too low in relation to the parameters that the inverter has been set to safely operate within.
- NO-GRID - No grid voltage - The inverter is not measuring a grid (mains) voltage suggesting that mains power to the unit has been disconnected.
- OV-BUS - Over DC bus voltage - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- UN-BUS - Under DC bus voltage - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- GRID-INTF02 - Grid interference - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- OV-G-I - Over grid current - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- AC Transient Overcurrent - This could be an issue with the backup port wiring or an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- IGBT-OV-I - Over IGBT current - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.

- IG-AD - Grid current sampling fail - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- OV-TEM - The inverter is too hot. This could be due to a number of factors, for example 1) If the inverter is exposed to direct sunlight 2) If the inverter has been installed without adequate ventilation around the chassis which would allow excess heat to dissipate 3) The inverters components are getting too hot due to an internal component fault. If the unit isn't running hot and if after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- INI-FAULT - Initialization system fault - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- OV-IgTr - Grid Transient Overcurrent - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- OV-Vbatt-H - Battery Hardware Overvoltage - Check if the battery is correctly connected or the battery contactor is disconnected, Restart the battery, Restart the inverter, if the fault still exists contact us.
- OV-ILLC - LLC Hardware Overcurrent - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- OV-Vbatt - Battery Overvoltage - Assuming that this is an existing installation that has been specified correctly, hasn't recently been changed or added to and has operated before without problems. This could mean either a problem with the batteries or more likely the inverter. Restart the inverter and restart the batteries, if the fault persists contact us.
- UN-Vbatt - Battery Undervoltage - Assuming that this is an existing installation that has been specified correctly, hasn't recently been changed or added to and has operated before without problems. This could mean either a problem with the batteries or the inverter. Restart the inverter and restart the batteries, if the fault persists contact us.
- DSP-B-FAULT - Comm. failure between main and slave DSP - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- NO-Battery - Check that the battery is connected correctly, restart the batteries, restart the inverter, if the fault persists contact us.
- OV-Vbackup - Inverting Overvoltage - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- Over-Load - Overload in backup mode - The power attempting to be drawn from the batteries when in backup mode (i.e. when no grid connection is present) is greater than the inverter can handle. In the first instance switch off the device that is drawing the power and restart the inverter. If this fault persists after a safe shutdown and restart or if EPS mode isn't enabled then contact us.
- CT-Fail - This is a communications error between the inverter and the mains with the CT clamp. Shutdown the system, disconnect and reconnect the CT clamp and restart. If this condition persists then contact us.
- MET_Comm_FAIL - This is a communications error between the inverter and the mains with the CT clamp/meter. Shutdown the system, disconnect and reconnect the CT clamp/meter and restart. If this condition persists then contact us.
- CAN_Comm_FAIL - CAN communication fault - This is a communications error between the inverter and the batteries. Shutdown the system, disconnect and reconnect the communications cable and restart. If this condition persists then contact us.
- DSP_Comm_FAIL - This is an internal error within the inverter. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.
- Alarm-BMS - The inverter has picked up that the batteries management system alarm has been activated. Restart the batteries and if the condition persists then contact us.
- BatName-FAIL - Wrong Battery Model - This is an error code that would only be expected to be seen on initial configuration. If after the system has been safely shutdown and restarted this condition persists then contact us.

A whole house surge protector is installed to provide protection from transient overvoltages originating from the mains/grid. A whole house surge protector is installed directly inline and as close as possible to the incoming mains/grid supply meter, this allows for surge protection for all circuits and equipment including solar inverters, routers, stereos and other sensitive electrical equipment within the network. The addition of a 100Amp lockable isolator also allows for safe and convenient isolation of all electrical equipment within the network including consumer units, solar inverters, battery storage units and EV chargers from the mains/grid in one place.
Surge protectors are in compliance with the recently updated 18th edition amendment 2 of BS7671. |
