Mains Power Supply Fused Cut Out

New Mains Power Supplies & Upgrades

We have experience of working with customers and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) when installing new mains single and three-phase power supplies and upgrades, we can:

  • Advise and help simplify the connection process and prepare the required paperwork;
  • Calculate the amount of power needed and the required size of new power supply;
  • Prepare grid connection documents including the preparation of planning maps and new meter locations;
  • Arrange for any works identified as contestable works to be carried out including electrical and groundworks;
  • Carry out, test and certify the electrical system on the consumer side of the mains power meter, required before the new supply can be energised.

Power supplies to Outbuildings, Garages, Sheds and Workshops

If you would like to run a new power supply to an outbuilding away from the existing mains supply including to new buildings, offices, workshops, garages and sheds we can help:

  • Calculate the power requirements of the new building;
  • Calculate the size, type and protections required to safely run a new cable;
  • Carry out groundworks, install underground conduit and or other cable protections;
  • Install, test and energise new consumer units and distribution boards:
  • Install new sub metering and energy usage / monitoring systems (as required);
  • Install, test and certify individual circuits, power points, light fittings and provide power to any specialist machinery.

Solar PV & AC/DC Electrical Drawings

Solar PV & AC/DC electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and network maps can be cost effectively drawn up and used in a number of ways:

  • to map out and understand existing power networks including the identification of equipment and cables;
  • in system owners welcome packs and user manuals;
  • for safety/warning/maintenance information to be installed alongside solar PV and electrical installations;
  • for communicating detailed technical information and wiring instructions to installers, electricians and subcontractors;
  • to provide the DNO with the technical system information needed for making a grid connection for solar PV systems and wind turbines;
Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)

All electrical installations deteriorate over time and with use, so it is important that every electrical installation is periodically inspected and tested to ensure that the installation is safe. An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a universally recognised way under the UK wiring regulations (BS7671) to record and communicate the current condition of an electrical installation, the report also highlights in an easy to understand format any dangers that may exist.

When should an EICR be carried out?

  • Anytime to confirm that a residential, commercial or industrial electrical systems is safe;
  • When purchasing or selling a property;
  • For landlords providing electrical safety certificates;
  • To prove electrical systems are safe and well maintained to insurance companies;
  • To ensure that an electrical system is fit for purpose and compliant when changing the use of a building;
  • To prepare a schedule of essential electrical works before carrying out refurbishment or extension projects;
  • For employers to show compliance with Health & Safety and employment legislation in relation to safety in the workplace.

Low profile, all black solar PV panel system, installed with minimal visual impact on the landscape. 104 x monocrystalline solar panels, 2 x three Phase AC/DC power inverters supply power to a number of residential and agricultural buildings and farmhouses.

Commercial Solar PV System Installation on a London Care Home

Residential Care Home, inc New Roof

This Care Home is located on a busy road in West London. By removing roof tiles and replacing with frameless all black PV laminates, we maintained the original roofline and achieved a subtle integrated look for the roof.

In addition to the residents power requirements, the home operates it's own kitchens, laundries and lifts. Over the course of the year, the care home will be close to generating as much power from the roof as is used inside the building.

Commercial Solar PV Barn, Guildford, Surrey

The Solar Barn in Guildford offered us the ideal combination of location and mounting structure to design and build a high performance PV system to cover the whole south facing side of the metal roof of an old tractor barn.

The 19.4kWp solar PV system satisfies approximately half of the farms annual electrical power requirement.

50kWp Ground Mount inc Groundworks

This 50kWp ground mounted solar PV system located just outside Reading, Berkshire supplies power to a working farm incorporating various industrial units, office units and polytunnels for soft fruit cultivation.

New Build Roof Integrated Solar PV System

Eco House, inc New Roof

A challenging new build project where the solar PV arrays were intergrated into the roofline. Objective was to maximise the output from the angular space with the 3 PV arrays (E, S, W facing) foming part of the roof.

Solar PV panels deliver the base power needed by 2 x air source heat pumps, a rainwater harvesting system and a heat recovery system.

Slimline, All Black

We installed this slimline and high performance all black system on the South West facing roof of a stable block. Chosen based on good work we had previously carried out nearby, the specification was for another system that would integrate seemlessly into the landscape.

Unless you look closely or already knew it was there you would most likely walk straight past this one and not even notice the mini powerhouse sat up on the roof!

50kWp Solar PV Ground Mounting Frame

We were responsible for the design, supply and installation of this bespoke 50kWp ground mounted solar PV system located in Pewsey, Wiltshire. The installation demanded careful planning and a high degree of accuracy to achieve the optimum output from the difficult installation area and limited available space.

Hidden away in the countryside we installed this 16-panel all black solar PV system. The solar PV array was designed to follow the shape and contours of the land, blending the PV array unseen into the landscape with no compromise in performance.

Previously roofed and clad in asbestos, this barn refurbishment in Oxenwood, Wiltshire gave us the opportunity to design and install a completely bespoke solar PV and roofing system.

Inside we installed new electrical points, distribution boards and EV charging facilities.
